EdLoop selected for the City of Detroit Startup Fund

I am excited to share that EdLoop has been selected as a recipient of the Detroit Startup Fund.

The Detroit Startup Fund is a $700,000 initiative launched by the City of Detroit, in partnership with the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, to support high-growth startups that create jobs and drive innovation in our city. It is one of the first programs of its kind at the municipal level, and it reflects something I have always believed about Detroit: this city does not wait for permission to lead.

For EdLoop, this is more than a grant. It is validation from our hometown that the problem we are solving matters, and that our approach is worth backing. We are building feedback infrastructure for K-12 schools. That means giving teachers, families, and school leaders a real-time view of how students are growing, not just how they scored on the last test. It is a big vision, and having the City of Detroit behind us makes a real difference.

I want to be honest about what this means for us practically. This funding helps us invest in product development, expand our pilot programs, and bring on the people we need to serve schools well. We are a small team doing focused work, and every resource counts.

I also want to acknowledge the other founders in this cohort. The Detroit Startup Fund attracted incredible companies across industries, and being selected alongside them is an honor. If you are building something in Detroit, I encourage you to look into the program. The city is investing in its entrepreneurs, and that investment is creating real momentum.

To the educators and district leaders who have supported EdLoop from the beginning: this is for you, too. You took a chance on a new platform because you believed your students deserved better visibility into their own learning. This funding helps us keep building the tools you have been asking for.

We are just getting started. And we are proud to be building from Detroit.
